Songs For An Anti-Caziness Shower!

So back when I first started blogging I made a post for something called an “anti-craziness shower”.  Here is the link:

Basically whenever you’re feeling down follow those simple steps and you will feel like a new man (or woman) afterwards!

The point of this blogpost is to give you amazing songs to listen to while taking your anti-craziness shower.  These are guaranteed to get your blood pumping once more, bring a smile to your face, and help you remember that there will in fact be a tomorrow!

Lets go!

Lose Myself by Lauryn Hill

This song is wonderful!  Its all about being true to yourself and finding the better person who lives within!  A must-have choice for any good anti-craziness shower!

Under The Sea from The Little Mermaid

Oh yeah thats right… I’m saying it! HAVE YOU EVER SHOWERED TO THIS SONG??? NO??? THEN DONT BASH IT! You’ll feel amazing and happy afterwards! Sometimes we all need a little Disney break (in no way am I supporting the plot of this movie though… I think it has many terrible lessons).

Elephant Love Medley from Moulin Rouge

Oh yes. I will admit… songs don’t get much gayer than this…. maybe only rivaled in gayness by a Cher concert in Palm Springs, but the point is this is song is AWESOME! Its just great in every way!  You will smile and feel great and probably sing along (yes straight men you will… you don’t have to admit to me or to anyone else..but in the privacy of you’re on shower you will sing along, I’m not stupid)

Nth Degree by Morningwood

Slightly inappropriate? yes sure… Insanely fun? OH HELL YA!  This song’s driving beat paired with campy lyrics will compliment the fun and comfort of a steamy shower perfectly!

Send Me On My Way by Rusted Root

yes its the song you all know and love! But have you ever played it in the shower?  It opens up a whole new experience that is sure to please!

Powerless by Nelly Furtado

Amazing song that somehow slipped under the radar.  This was from Nelly Furtado’s second album… or as I see it, her last album before becoming modern-pop-trash.

God Is A DJ by P!nk

great great great great song!  listen enjoy and rock out!

Alright there you have it! Your anti-craizness shower playlist!  Now get going!

Whoopi Goldberg’s Advice For Feeling Better!

Hello my honey-baby-child-luvin-stuffin-muffins! Its me…. The worldly and wonderful Whoopi Goldberg!

You may know me as that crazy lady from Ghost. Or perhaps the rockin’ sister-nun in Sister Act.  And some of you may even watch me weekday mornings on The View.  But today old Whoopi is here to help all my suagr-dumplins feel better when they’re feelin’ all down.

Thats right Children!  improving your diet can always help you feel better!  Fruits that contain Vitamin C like, oranges, watermelons, strawberries, blueberries, and even those sweet, sweet banannerz!  Whoopi lover herself some bana-rama-nanazers!

Thats right!  Even I, the all-powerful Whoopi Goldberg gets a bit down sometimes.  And nothin’ makes me feel better than holding my head high and giving a good smile and compliment.  Just last week during commercial break I turned to my view co-hostess and sista-from-anotha’-mista, Joy Behar cuz she was lookin’ all down.  And so i says, “Joy my lovely little sweet luscious ladybug.  You were fabulous today!”  And then me and Joy both felt better!

Thats right!  Anytime someone in my life doesn’t believe in me or tries to put me down I give em on these!  Stare down that naysaying neanderthal who doesn’t believe in you!  Ms. Whoopi loves givin’ haters a good “PUT THAT COOKIE DOWN RIGHT NOW!” face that old gramma’ used to give me when id try to steal more than one cookie from the jar

Heres another example:

Movie Producer: “I don’t know Whoopi…. will anyone really want to see a movie about a singing nun?

Thats right sugar babies!  The rest is history!

yes yes yes and yes!  Ole’ Whoopi loves to shake dat ass when she’s feeling down.   Put on your favorite tune and get giggly… and a bit giggly with it y’all! Check out this earlier entry to find out some great songs to get down to when you’re feeling down!

Alright my Sweet Thangs’   Rock Out With Your Cock Out!

Witchcraft, Astrology, Mystics, and… Me?

So today after therapy I went walking around the CBD a bit because Im trying to continue walking around new areas and making new progress.  And i stumbled upon this little witchcraft, wicca store thing.  I was like… hey, what the fuck, why not.

So I went in and this lady started talking to me.  I was telling her how I was getting over panic, anxiety, and depression and that I was looking for something to help me feel better.  We started talking about spirit animals, crystals, auras, and all that cool stuff.

Please note here. Im very new to this scene. Im not someone who has been living his life around the bewitching cycle ad stuff.  I didn’t even really look into astrology until my therapist told me to look up stuff on it.

So anyway she tells me to spin a tarot wheel.

So she tells me to spin this wheel and ask a question.  The wheel stops on a number and you grab a card with that number on it and read it.

So i spin the wheel and ask, “What can I do to not be a slave to my past”

The wheel stops on 14: The Oracle of True Flow

The card reads:

“Allow magical thinking to guide your way in every choice through night and day.  Dispel old ways and connect with true flow.  Embrace changing feelings and your true self will grow”

That kind of stuck with me.  “Dispel old ways”…. which I know I need to do, and “connect with true flow”.

In psychology flow is the mental state of operation in which a person performing an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process of the activity. In essence, flow is characterized by complete absorption in what one does.

Ok ANYONE out there who has depression, anxiety, or panic knows damn well we need some flow in our life.  That is what depression, anxiety, and panic are!  its us living inside our heads  rather than living in the world around us.

Pretty crazy right? I still don’t know if I believe in witchcraft…..but still… I think that was a valuable card for me to read!

I put a spell on y’all!

Back To The Gym… This Is Going To Suck

Ah yes.  So a month ago I made a post about returning to the gym.  I had 2 weeks of doing really well…and then, of course. I got sick.  I got tonsillitis and was knocked out for 2 weeks.  Today is the day I return… hopefully triumphantly to the gym!

But why is it that the gym is so hard for all of use with depression, anxiety, and panic?  Its actually hilarious. When you read medical websites or talk to therapists you see one thing over and over again…

Exercise with make you feel better!

But then if you ever look at blogs or chat forums from people who actually have depression, anxiety, or panic you hear something completely different.  Something more along the lines of:

The gym causes me more anxiety and makes me feel horrible about myself

So where are getting lost in translation?  Here is my thought on it.

YES the gym probably is good for us physically.  It helps release endorphins, reduces cholesterol, fat, helps the blood pump blah blah blah, you know the story.  But it also is extremely hard for us going through problems because its so strenuous, and everyone there is shallow and makes us feel worse.

So how can we change this? We obviously need to go to the gym for out health, but how can we do so when its so hard for us mentally?

Byt throwing out everything Ive ever said before.  Forget being a good person.  Forget the ideals for a better world.  Forget decency.

Everyone there is exposing as much skin as possible and look like they’re models about to go walk the runway SO UTILIZE THAT TO YOUR ADVANTAGE!

be a horndog is what I’m saying.

Anytime you start feeling stressed… well how bout you stare at that cute guy over there?  Or look at her boobs for a while.  Oh yeah I’m saying it.  Forget modesty BUT REMEMBER!  YOURE FORGETTING MODESTY FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR HEALTH!

Heart starting to race? Feeling sweaty?  getting uncomfortable?

Really?  Are you sure you’re still focusing on how miserable you are?

Or maybe you’re feeling a bit tired and worn out.  Worried you won’t make it through your workout?

Are you sure? i have a feeling you’re thinking about something else right now!

ugh… and here is the obligatory girl picture… stupid straight guys.

PS boys, she looks like a bitch… but whatever, if you’re into that kind of thing

See, I’m feeling ready to take on the gym already!

Get up, Run, Jump, get active, and never proofread!

Me, Miranda Lambert, and The Only Song You’ll Ever Need To Live Again

I am sooooo happy to finally be sharing with you one of my favorite, if not my favorite musical artists of all time.  Miranda Lambert has a song for pretty much every major even in my life. I love her music so much and i think anyone out there who is hurting could benefit from it. I PROMISE!

lets stat with her song NEW STRINGS

New Strings is the story of Miranda leaving her Texas hometown for Los Angeles to pursue her dreams after (i assume) leaving a bad relationship.  This song is so inspirational and cool to me because its kind of my story.  Im from a boonfuck city in Ohio.  Growing up nobody ever believed in me.  Nobody ever cared.  Nobody ever thought Id end up being the most adventurous person to graduate from my class.  So when I was in high school saying things like, “Im gonna go to LA to make movies to inspire people to be better” I got a lot of blank stares, laughs, and put downs.

“I’ll grab the wheel and point it west
Pack the good and leave the rest
I’ll drive until I find the missing piece
You said I wouldn’t get too far on a tank of gas
And an empty heart
But I have everything I’ll ever need
I got this old guitar and a brand new set of strings”

So yeah, obviously this song means a lot to me.  Because hey…in 2010… guess what city I ended up in??????

Thats right bitches!   I was living it up in the westside of LA.  I started to do some extra work and was even picked up by a modeling agency!

Now I’m not gonna say my life there was all blue skies and puffy clouds.  In fact, I found that I didn’t fit in there too well.  But its ok.  I don’t think Ive done too bad for myself… cuz guess where this little boy from Ohio is living now? ….

Hell ya!  Ive gone down under!  Not too bad hey?

“Mama said I never should have done it
Should have ended us before we ever started
Daddy knew about my pride so he stood there
And he smiled inside and I pretended that I
Didn’t notice a little tear that fell when I said I was going”

Oh yeah…. this wasn’t easy.  Trust me.  This move was not easy at all.  But remember a few blogposts ago when I talked about “the road less traveled”?  Going your own route in life is NEVER EASY! But I fully believe that it leads to a life the common man can’t even imagine.  Guess how many people in my hometown even know where I am right now?  AND GUESS HOW MUCH I CARE????

“I’ll grab the wheel and point it west”

Yea.  Thats right Miranda, Ive always headed west as well.  Chicago, to Los Angeles, to the woods of Canada, and now here to Australia.  Hell Ive gone so far west this time I’ve actually ended up in the far east!

Yes. my mom worries about me.  Yes I sometimes miss home.  Yes when I got here to Australia years of depression morphed into insane panic attacks and constant anxiety.  Another bump in the road as far as I’m concerned.  Ive gotten so much better than I used to be.   Seriously read my first couple of entries.  I was a train wreck!  But not anymore.

“But I have everything I’ll ever need
I got this old guitar and a brand new set of strings”

We all have a brand new set of strings.  Each one of us can change out tune whenever we want.  its about finding how and finding why.  For me, I had no life in my hometown. I was the weird gay kid that was made fun of.  I was never going to amount to anything.  I needed bigger. I needed more.  For me to be the best I can be I had to run.  Run westward into the sunset with all the good, the bad, and the damn right outrageous life that has come with it.

Onward and Upward!
