My Roommate is a Trump Supporter Part 2

trump

So, the other week I made a post about my roommate being a Trump supporter and all the horrible and stupid shit he says.  Well, with the release of the Mueller Report, he’s gone balls to the wall, fucking batshit nuts.

Which is ridiculous. I’m a very liberal person. However, I fully understand that Trump will win in 2020 because Democrats can’t get their shit together and nobody in the country has the balls to hold the Republican party accountable for anything.

So, why he’s mad, I’m not sure…..

He’s literally guaranteed Trump until 2024 (vomits)

But what makes me so sad is that he’s dug himself into this little hole. He listens only to male country singers. He watches only Fox News. He reads only Alt-Right websites. He has no friends in New York and never leaves the apartment because he feels the people here are mean to him, and judge him for being a Trump supporter….

WHICH IS SO FUNNY TO ME, BECAUSE AS A GAY GUY WHO GREW UP IN OHIO, I WAS CONSTANTLY TOLD BY PEOPLE LIKE HIM THAT I SHOULD JUST LEAVE OHIO AND GO RUN AWAY TO SOME BIG LIBERAL CITY WHERE I WOULDN’T BOTHER “REAL AMERICANS” SO MUCH.

SO TO MY ROOMMATE, I’D SAY THE SAME – YOU CAN’T BE IN NEW YORK…THE CITY WHERE ALL OF US FROM THE MIDWEST HAVE TO RUN AWAY TO BECAUSE OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU… AND THEN BE MAD THAT NONE OF US WANT YOU HERE.

YOUR PEOPLE CONSTANTLY TOLD ME TO GET OUT MY ENTIRE LIFE.

SO NOW I SAY THE SAME.

GO BACK TO KENTUCKY WHERE YOU BELONG.

bye

What was really terrifying though was the “stand-up comedy” he blasted from the living room the other day.  I have stand-up in quotes because I saw no comedy here. There weren’t even jokes.  I swear to you people, this is verbatim what was said —–

Comedian: You know who I really hate? Bernie Sanders!

(Audience claps)

Comedian: What a fucking piece of shit right?

(Audience bursts out laughing and cheering)

Comedian: Someone really needs to walk up to that motherfucker and just punch him in the fucking face!

(Audience laughing uproariously)

Comedian:  Seriously, like, he wants to steal our money???? If he ever tries to steal my money I’m going beat the shit out of him!

(Audience going completely fucking nuts)

Comedian: I think Bernie doesn’t get that we’re powerful. If he ever comes for us, we’re gonna’ take him down!

(Audience going so crazy I’m surprised the theater didn’t collapse)

People… this shit was scary.

Republicans went nuts when Samantha Bee called Ivanka a feckless cunt, and yet they have no problem with someone saying they’re going to beat Bernie Sanders to death?

Ya’ll, we are fucked. These people are terrifying. Can we please get our act together for 2020?  Please?

  1. ROFLMAO I’m very much not on your side, but you make a valid point – a very valid point. If an American man is going to move someplace like NYC – I did as well – he needs to understand that he’s then in what amounts to a foreign country where the American man is, at best disliked. He needs to accept that rather than be a bitch about it.

    1. I don’t think American men are disliked in NYC… considering that NYC is populated by American men and women. I’m assuming you’re idea of what a “man” is is probably very specific and has no basis other than what you were taught in your upbringing?

      1. True, I do believe being a man is about more than being a sexually mature male homo sapiens. However, I hold the important distinction to be American vs. the average resident in NYC.

I do not find the majority of those residents to be Americans in any way beyond legalistic ones since they share neither loyalty towards- nor ideological similarity to normative American culture.

But I live there, so it behooves me to neither take them too much to task in their homeland nor whine about not fitting in or being disliked – exactly as I behaved for the years that I lived and worked in other foreign places.

      2. Well, I applaud you for having a light heart about it. However, I would also challenge you to question why major cities like NYC, LA and SF are the economic and artistic powerhouses of this country, if they are so blatantly un-American. Also, all these cities are also much safer and healthier than my hometown in Ohio, which I’d again challenge to ask what is being American, and if being “American” means living in a poorer place with more crime, how important is being “American” anyways?

Again, not trying to start a fight – I appreciate that you’re not like my roommate.

      3. Well, one – major cities like NYC, LA and SF are actually a lot less safe – barring domestic violence – than most of those smaller places except for in certain “privileged” areas. Obviously though, I can’t speak to your hometown, which might be a shithole.

As for healthier – not sure on that one. NYC, LA, and SF seem to have some serious health issues, which also seem to be growing in LA and SF – not NYC though from what I can gather. So I guess it depends upon one’s metric for healthier.

As for economic powerhouses – Perhaps, again based upon your metrics. A lot of money is made there, but little of that impacts the normal person’s economy in a directly measurable way. And that’s especially true of SF since the money makers are near the city for the most part, but not in it… and some of the ones that are in it are thinking of moving out due to SF’s policies and problems.

But hey! That’s the sort I make my money off of and I’m no longer traveling the world, too often going from one real shithole to another, e.g., Sana’a to N’Djamena.

      4. Um… no. I’m sorry, but if you look at per capita crime with theft, violent assault, and murder, they’re not worse at all. Your claim has no facts to back it up.

In fact, just looking at the most dangerous cities in America list…. it’s dominated by cities in states that went for Trump: https://www.usatoday.com/picture-gallery/travel/experience/america/2018/10/17/25-most-dangerous-cities-america/1669467002/

And NYC, LA, and SF are not on the list…..

      5. The issue with such statistics is “Per capita.” Midtown and Bedford-Stuyvasent (my home) are two very different places, but both are NYC and similar populations. Hence, my “except for in certain “privileged” areas” caveat.

Also, you might be offended if you looked up the demographics for the violent crime in those 25 cities. Then, too many on my side as well, though for different reasons again related to “certain “privileged” areas.

      6. That point isn’t valid either. Also, Mr. Republican talking about privilege. If you’re so in favor of helping the non-privileged areas, I don’t understand why you’d vote republican when they’re not in favor of gun control, increasing access to healthcare, increasing minimum wages, helping school districts, implementing gun laws, and so forth…. actually wait, yes I do. Because you have some “insider” knowledge that the rest of us don’t as to why nothing will work and something something about you being smarter than everyone else.

        Got it.
